The American Gold Buffalo was the US Mint's first 24-karat bullion coin. The 2027 issue keeps James Earle Fraser's classic Indian Head obverse and American bison reverse, originally created for the 1913 nickel, in 99.99% fine gold. Face value $50. As a 2027-dated issue it is offered ahead of the mint's general release, and orders are dispatched as soon as mint stock arrives. The listed price moves with gold spot.
